After qualifying for the Europa League final by eliminating Marseille, Atalanta Bergamo is getting a little closer to a place in the Champions League for next season. During the 33rd day of Serie A, the Lombard team won against its direct competitor, AS Roma with a score of 2 to 1, at home. Charles de Ketelaere, author of a good performance, opened the scoring in the 18th minute on a service from Gianluca Scamacca, then doubled the lead two minutes later on a pass from his teammate from Milan, Teun Koopmeiners. Lorenzo Pellegrini reduced the score with a penalty in the 66th minute. Following this defeat, Daniele de Rossi’s men no longer have their destiny in their hands. The latter will have to win their next matches against Empoli then Milan, and hope for a misstep from the Rossoneri to have a chance of competing in the Champions League next season.
