Series in music: the Séries Mania 2023 festival and Sacem celebrate composers


On the occasion of the Series Mania festival in Lille, Sacem will award the Prize for Best Original Music to one of the composers in the French competition. Light on the nominees.

From March 17 to 24, 2023, the Séries Mania festival returns to Lille to celebrate international fiction. The event joins forces with the Sacem (Society of authors, composers and music publishers) to honor the work of musicians in the series, which are all too often invisible.

Since 2021, a Prize for Best Original Music has been awarded to one of the composers nominated in the French competition. The winner is chosen by the international press jury and will be awarded at the closing ceremony on Friday 24 March.

Composers in French competition:

– Olivia Merilahti for Aspergirl, an OCS series

– Arthur Simonini for Bardot, a France Télévisions series

– Maxime Lebidois for Les randonneuses, a TF1 series

– Stéphane Lopez for Polar Park, an Arte series

– Julie Roué for Under Control, an Arte series

– Rebeka Warrior and Maud Geffray for Split, a france tv slash series

In its press release, Sacem would like to congratulate the French composers Kenma Shindo for Gouttes de dieu and Maxence Dussere for De Grâce, series selected in international competition.

At the same time as the competition, the Sacem Museum will be present at the Don’t skip exhibition, which will offer a section on the credits music. A show by Alex Beaupain and Benoît Lagane, entitled If you missed the startwill be played on Wednesday March 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Théâtre du Nord.

Finally, a conference on “Credits in music” with Yuksek, Uèle Lamore, Loïk Dury and Elise Luguern will be held on Thursday March 23 at 6:00 p.m. at the Village Festival.

As a reminder, it is the series Salade Grecque (continuation of the trilogy The Spanish Inn) by Cédric Klapisch which opens the ball of the Series Mania festival this Friday, March 17. The first two episodes are previewed.
