Kick-off for the 2024 edition of Séries Mania in Lille! From March 15 to 22, the festival will bring a week of screenings, masterclasses and other previews to series fans. Here is the program.
Like every year, the Séries Mania Festival takes up residence in Lille to bring a dream week to series fans with screenings, masterclasses and previews of fiction from all over the world.
The start is launched this March 15 for a week of previews, exceptional meetings with prestigious guests, a unique exhibition, workshops, evenings… which you can also follow remotely thanks to the platform SeriesMania+throughout the festival.
Among the major themes that emerge from this 2024 edition of Séries Mania, we find the questions of the family unit and stories of filiation, Artificial Intelligence, desire and sexuality throughout history and religious mysticism .
Festival-goers will have access to numerous activities, such as the Large Immersive Exhibition “Behind the Scenery” on the hidden professions of the series or even Fan Club meetings with the teams from Plus belle la vie, encore plus belle, L’art du crime and Escort Boys.
Among the major event series, we find in particular in preview The 3-Body Problem, new epic SF series from Netflix by David Benioff and DB Weiss (Game of Thrones), In the Shadow, French series adapted from the novel of former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe or the sulfurous series Mary & George with Julianne Moore and Nicholas Galitzine (My Dear F***ing Prince, Bottoms).

There will be a lot of people on the various official selection juries. The jury for the international competition will be chaired by Zal Batmanglij (The OA, Murder at the End of the World) and composed of director Charlotte Brandström (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power), Sofiane Zermani alias Fianso, Bérénice Béjo and German actor Malick Bauer (Sam: a Saxon).
While the jury for the international panorama will be chaired by the writer Douglas Kennedy and will include among its ranks the actress Suzy Bemba (The Opera), the producer Danna Stern, the South Korean producer Hojin Kwon and the showrunner Clémence Madeleine-Perdrillat (Drops of God).
This year again, festival-goers will be able to meet and interact with major names in fiction, such as actress Kelly Rutherford (Gossip Girl, Escort Boys), Laurent Lafitte, Zal Batmanglij, David Kennedy, Audrey Fleurot, Camélia Jordana, Patricia Arquette , Clémentine Célarié and Peter Mullan, who will have the honor of being the stars of the masterclass.
Conferences will be held by Jean-Xavier de Lestrade (Laetitia, Sambre) on “Fiction and documentary: two mirrors of the same reality”, Fabrice Drouelle on “Making a story sensitive”, Shirine Boutella, Marianne Levy and Clémence Madeine-Perdrillat on “The Soft Power of romantic comedies”, and finally by Elisabeth Tanner, who inspired the character of Camille Cottin in Ten percent.

Short format competition
The jury for the Formats Courts competition is chaired by the French screenwriter and director Fabrice Gobert (Les Revenants, Mytho) and made up of the Spanish screenwriter and director Alvaro Carmona (People talking, Dejate Ver), the Scottish creator and screenwriter Stef Smith (Float ) and French actress Mouna Soualem (Oussekine). It will award the Prize for Best Short Format Series.
