Series of burglaries – Caught red-handed: Gang of thieves exposed

A four-man Romanian gang of thieves is said to have broken into apartments and stolen money from collection boxes and inspection stickers from cars. On Monday, the Styrian police caught two of them red-handed. They were arrested and a house search followed.

They committed a series of burglaries – now the Styrian police have been able to arrest at least two suspects from the four-man gang of thieves. Since the beginning of June, the criminal investigators had been investigating the Romanian group of perpetrators (all between 32 and 37 years old).The four perpetrators are said to have not only broken into several residential buildings, they also committed thefts from donation boxes in churches and inspection stickers from cars. The gang – three men and one woman – apparently mostly traveled in a car with French license plates.Two of four suspects arrestedOn Monday, the investigators had a success: two suspects were caught red-handed during a burglary in a residential building. They were arrested, and cash, jewelry, burglary tools and gloves were found in their vehicle.The suspects’ home address in Graz was also found. During a house search, cell phones, cash and other evidence were found. The two suspects were taken to Leoben prison.
