When trying to place a container under an engine block, the heavy part tipped out of the crane’s anchorage and fell on the foot of a 32-year-old Bosnian man. His colleague was able to free him quickly. The man suffered serious leg injuries.
Serious work accident on Thursday in Innsbruck! At around 8:30 a.m., a 44-year-old Austrian wanted to use his truck’s crane to lift an engine block of an emergency generator. He noticed that oil was leaking out, whereupon he set the engine block down again and tilted it slightly with the crane to drain off the oil. A 32-year-old Bosnian wanted to place a container under the block for this purpose. Serious leg injuries Suddenly the oil pan broke, causing the engine block to fall out of its bracket and onto the Bosnian’s leg. The 44-year-old immediately lifted the engine block with the crane to free his colleague. The Bosnian suffered serious leg injuries in the accident. After first aid, he was taken to the clinic in Innsbruck by ambulance.
