A 67-year-old from the Völkermarkt district got behind the wheel while heavily intoxicated. In St. Kanzian he crashed into an oncoming vehicle.
The drunk was driving his car on the St. Kanzianer Landesstraße (L 116) on Tuesday evening at around 7 p.m. When he suddenly crossed into the oncoming lane, he crashed head-on into the car of a 51-year-old woman, who suffered injuries of an unknown degree in the accident. “The woman had to be taken to Klagenfurt Hospital by ambulance. The 67-year-old was uninjured,” said the Völkermarkt police. Because a breathalyzer test confirmed that he was heavily intoxicated, his driver’s license was taken away.
