An 81-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a truck on Tuesday afternoon in Leoben in Styria.
At around 1:30 p.m., a 48-year-old truck driver from the Leoben district drove his vehicle in the Donawitz district on Kerpelystrasse towards the west. At the same time, the 81-year-old, also from the Leoben district, was riding his bicycle on a bicycle crossing in the same direction. The truck driver wanted to turn left with his vehicle at an intersection and may have overlooked the cyclist who was driving parallel to the truck. He hit the cyclist, causing him to fall. The seriously injured victim was taken by rescue to the LKH Hochsteiermark, Bruck an der Mur location, the truck driver remained uninjured.
