Seriously injured – climber fell on the Wiesbachhorn

A 53-year-old climber fell on a tour of the great Wiesbachhorn on Tuesday. The seriously injured was rescued by the ambulance helicopter.

The 53-year-old had set out on a mountain tour on the Große Wiesbachhorn between Fusch and Kaprun. On the descent, the Pinzgauer slipped on the Kaindl ridge despite crampons and ice ax and fell about 150 meters over a snow field and through rocky terrain. The seriously injured was rescued by the emergency helicopter and flown to the Schwarzach hospital.
