A glider crashed in Lofer on Sunday evening – a man was seriously injured. The accident happened in a meadow. Fire brigade, police and rescue workers including an emergency doctor and rescue helicopter were on site.
According to the Red Cross operations manager Herbert Hagn, the pilot of the plane – a German citizen – was seriously injured, but was approachable. “The man started from Unterwössen in Bavaria and ended up having problems in the air. During the emergency landing attempt in Lofer, the crash apparently occurred over a meadow, ”reports Hagn. The seriously injured was cared for by the rescue services and flown to the hospital in Salzburg by the Martin 6 rescue helicopter.
