Seriously injured – rootstock rolls over forestry worker in Schwarzach

During forestry work in Schwarzach im Pongau on Friday morning, a worker was run over by a tree and seriously injured. The man was taken to the Schwarzach Clinic. The scene of the accident was difficult for the emergency services to reach.

At 9:50 a.m., the Schwarzach volunteer fire department was alerted to a forestry worker accident. A man was run over by its roots while cutting a tree on Putzgrabenstrasse near Schernberg Castle. When the emergency services arrived, they were met by the victim’s colleague and taken to the scene of the accident. This was 150 meters above the road, the path there was steep and icy and difficult for the emergency services to reach. The emergency doctor treated the seriously injured man and the mountain rescue team secured him. Together, the emergency services from the fire brigade, Red Cross, mountain rescue and police brought the injured man with a basket stretcher down to the street, where he was driven by the Red Cross to the Schwarzach Clinic.
