Seriously injured – workers (55) at Wels train station were run over by a wagon

During shunting work on Wednesday evening at around 9.15 p.m. at Wels train station, an employee was seriously injured on the tracks there.

The 55-year-old worker should have braked a wagon train that was running freely at walking pace in front of the docking point with a brake shoe. He stood between the approaching buffers to make the immediate docking.

Stumbled
Suddenly the 55-year-old stumbled and came to rest between the tracks. The front car rolled over his foot and seriously injured him. The man could still call a colleague for help. After the first aid by the ambulance and an emergency doctor, the injured person was admitted to the Wels Clinic.
