ServusTV goes Hi-Res: private broadcaster with UHD premiere

SERVUS TV

ServusTV joins the broadcasters that offer content in UHD on the satellite TV platform HD+. It starts this weekend with a ServusTV documentary in the highest picture quality.

From Saturday, ServusTV will also be offering content in UHD, but not itself, but via HD+. (Source: © ServusTV)

  • ServusTV ventures into mountainous UHD terrain.
  • You can’t run this company all by yourself.
  • The UHD cooperation partner is the satellite TV platform HD+.

ServusTV brings its “mountain worlds” to UHD1 on HD+, the TV platform of the satellite operator Astra SES. Six hours each of the documentary series with impressive nature shots will be broadcast on the coming Saturdays in Advent between 12 noon and 6 p.m. In addition to “Bergwelten”, other documentaries are also to be shown as part of the cooperation.

ServusTV new in the channel catalog of UHD1

The UHD1 channel serves as a point of contact for HD+ broadcasters that do not offer their own UHD infrastructure. Tele 5, Deluxe Music or Eurosport also make use of this option. But some content from external UHD offers such as RTL UHD or ProSiebenSat.1 UHD is also running there. In order to be able to see this content in the highest picture quality via HD+, you first need a satellite TV connection and also a UHD-capable television that has a so-called HEVC decoder.

So you can see UHD content at HD+

If these two aspects are covered, you still need the HD+ transmitter package from Astra. You can get this either with the help of an HD+ module available in specialist shops or via the app, which is now already integrated in advance with a number of smart TV manufacturers. Which brands offer this service can be found on the HD+ homepage.
