(CercleFinance.com) – SES announced, at the end of last week, the successful launch of its first two O3b mPOWER satellites aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS), in Florida.
A second-generation SES system in medium Earth orbit, O3b mPOWER will initially comprise 11 high-power satellites, each equipped with more than 5,000 digitally formed beams, and next-generation ground infrastructure.
Key customers who have subscribed to O3b mPOWER services include Microsoft, Jio Platforms, Orange and most recently Vodafone Cook Islands. The start of commercial service is scheduled for the third quarter of 2023.
