Seven major groups, in particular from the CAC40, committed themselves Thursday by a charter to support several thousand SMEs in their decarbonization, in the presence of the Minister Delegate for SMEs and Trade Olivia Grégoire.
These major accounts – Aroports de Paris, Bouygues construction, EDF, Engie, Sanofi, Schneider Electric and Thales – intend to support 3,400 SMEs by 2025, an ambitious milestone, Ms. Grgoire rejoiced in a speech to the Minister of the Economy. , following the signing of the SME Pact Alliance.
This system, which mainly concerns the commercial partners of large groups, is managed by the Pacte PME association, founded in 2010, which brings together large companies, local authorities, ETIs and SMEs.
SMEs represent a quarter of industrial sector assignments in France, said Olivia Grgoire. Their decarbonization would make it possible to avoid 13 million tonnes of CO2 per year, a necessary contribution to achieving our climate objectives, added the minister.
Three paths have been defined by Pacte PME: a first destiny to accompany SMEs which have not started their decarbonization towards (the establishment of a) carbon footprint, detailed Franois Perret, director general of the structure.
Another for those who have already established their carbon footprint and who now need to define an action plan.
A third finally, for the 10% of companies most advanced in this process, which must now implement operational solutions.
The start of the first carbon assessments will take place in the fall of 2023, promised Franois Perret.

Contact by AFP, the minister’s office indicated that the state’s commitment would amount to 650,000 euros in 2023, specifying that the rest of the envelope is [subordonn] the performance of this first year and the arbitration of future finance bills.
Franois Perret is counting on state aid of 1.7 million euros over 3 years to finance the operation of the Alliance Pacte PME, i.e. almost half of the total financing, which he estimates at 3.5 million euros. over this same period.
The rest will be contributed by the large groups, which will participate in them by dedicating human resources, i.e. one or more pivotal contacts per large group to this system.
The idea is to have at least fifteen or even twenty major groups involved in the SME Pact, the director general revealed to AFP.
