Schalke shakes off the shock with a dream goal
Immediately after a dominant first half, Schalke falls behind, but can quickly free themselves from the shock against Sandhausen. It goes back and forth, in the end S04 even celebrates a runaway victory. Darmstadt efficiently conquers the top of the 2nd Bundesliga, Karlsruhe shoots Hanover.
Schalke 04 – SV Sandhausen 5: 2 (0: 0)
Schalke 04 maintains contact with the targeted promotion places in the 2nd Bundesliga. The team of Dimitrios Grammozis defeated the relegation-threatened SV Sandhausen 5-2 (0-0) on the 15th matchday without their injured striker Simon Terodde and thus ended a series of three games without a win.
Marcel Ritzmaier (47th) brought the guests into the lead immediately after the break and shocked Schalke. Thomas Ouwejan (58th) and Marius Bülter (64th) turned the game in front of officially 46,319 spectators but quickly. It was followed by a turbulent four minutes: Sandhausen’s Alexander Schirow (72nd) scored his own goal, a little later Pascal Testroet (74th) brought the guests back, then Bülter again set the old distance with his sixth goal of the season (76th) with a dream Restore Hackentor. Rodrigo Zalazar (82nd) made the final score. Due to the eighth success of the season, S04 climbed to fourth place, at least for the time being, Sandhausen remains penultimate.
Even without Terodde, who is unavailable due to a muscle injury and until further notice, Schalke was a scoring threat early on. The Royal Blues fired seven shots in the first 15 minutes, Malick Thiaw came closest to the lead with his shot to the crossbar (11th). Until the break, the Schalke momentum slackened a little while the field superiority remained the same. In the 44th minute Salazar had a free choice with a header from a central position – he headed into the arms of SVS keeper Patrick Drewes.
The penalty followed less than two minutes after the restart, when Ritzmaier gave the guests the lead with the first shot at Martin Fraisl’s goal. After that, the favorite turned up and became more efficient. Terodde has already scored twelve second division goals for the Royal Blues this season, and with 154 goals he has been the most successful shooter in second division history since last week.
FC Erzgebirge Aue – Darmstadt 98 1: 2 (0: 0)
Darmstadt 98 has at least temporarily regained the lead in the table. In the ghost game at Erzgebirge Aue, the lilies prevailed with 2: 1 (0: 0). Luca Pfeiffer (62nd) scored the opening goal for the guests, he increased his season hit account to twelve. Aaron Seydel (75th) was responsible for the 2-0. Antonio Jonjic (85th) shortened for Aue. It was the fourth win in a row for Hessen, and it was points 17, 18 and 19 from the last seven games.
It is interesting that SVD coach Torsten Lieberknecht has not lost any of his twelve second division games against Aue (five wins, seven draws). For Aue, a series of ten points from the last four matches, including two wins in a row, came to an end. The first big excitement was the withdrawal of an own goal by Sören Gonther (12th) by the video assistant. The TV pictures showed an offside position of Phillip Tietz. There was a great chance for the home side in the 22nd minute. Jonjic, however, failed with his shot at goalkeeper Marcel Schuhe, who parried brilliantly with his foot defense.
Karlsruher SC – Hannover 96 4: 0 (3: 0)
The Karlsruher SC has ended a negative series of four games. The Baden won against Hannover 96, without a win for eight games in a row, with 4: 0 (3: 0). The Lower Saxony slipped through the bankruptcy to relegation place 16.
The South Korean Kyoung-Rok Choi (17th) brought the KSC into the lead. Daniel Gordon (27th) and Marvin Wanitzek (29th) made everything clear with a double strike in the first half. Philipp Hofmann (83.) made the final score with his eighth goal of the season. Only in the initial phase did the guests keep the game open. After the deficit, however, all dams broke, the defense was very vulnerable and invited the Karlsruhe team.
Once again it became clear that Hannover also has big problems on the offensive this season. There are only ten goals for 96. It was only in the last ten minutes of the first half that Lower Saxony put themselves in the limelight on the offensive. In the 34th minute, a goal from Lukas Hinterseer was not given due to handball according to video evidence. Five minutes later he was unlucky with a shot from the post. Hanover has missed seven goals this season alone.
