Although the visual changes are rather marginal, the new GLS family definitely scores with fresh vigour. Mercedes has given the radiator grille a striking makeover, which gives the front of the GLS a more distinctive face with four strong, vertical aluminum struts galvanized in “Silver Shadow”. In the performance model GLS AMG 63, the struts are upright and chrome-plated, the luxury GLS Maybach has a radiator grille with finer, also chrome-plated struts, which is framed by a chrome frame, the Maybach lettering is now in the grille, below the standing star.
