A grieving mother from Tennessee, USA, wants warn other families in the country after the death of his 7-year-old daughter in early October, while the child was popping birthday balloons. “I want people to know it, so they can be aware of it”assured Channa Kelly to WVLT-TV about the risks of suffocation presented by balloons of this type for kids.
The mother said she briefly left 7-year-old Alexandra Hope in their living room while this one was popping her birthday balloons October 1st. But when she returned, she found the little girl face downone of the balloons burst above his head. “That’s what took my baby, it was his birthday balloon. It’s hard to take in”she confided, before adding, still for television, after the little girl’s funeral this Saturday, October 7: “She was wonderful, so lively, independent. She loved crafts and swimming – oh, she was a little fish.”

An investigation opened after the death of the little girl
Police in Clinton, Tennessee, saidshe was investigating the death of Alexandra Hope, WVLT reported. The balloons are there leading cause of death from choking in children, explained the American consumer protection organization, as reported by Fox News. Children can also choking on uninflated balloons or balloon pieces after they have burst. “Due to the risk of choking, the CPSC recommends that parents and guardians not allow children under 8 years of age to play with uninflated balloons without supervision”indicated the agency, before specifying: “The CPSC does not believe that a fully inflated balloon poses a danger to young children. If the balloon bursts, however, it recommends that parents immediately collect the pieces of the burst balloon and discard them out of reach of young children.” This fight to warn families of this risk of accident also allows Channa Kelly talking about her little girl.
