According to local media reports, the most recent attack on Sunday hit a bus in a Shia-majority part of Kabul. The terrorist militia Islamic State (IS) had previously claimed responsibility for two bomb attacks on Friday and Saturday in another Shiite neighborhood.
Since religious celebrations are currently taking place, Unama is calling for more security for the Shiites. They are currently preparing for the so-called Ashura Day. This commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, a grandson of the Prophet Mohammed. According to the demand, these celebrations should be able to take place without further attacks.
The IS fighters are basically Sunnis and are waging a religious war against the Shiites. These form the second largest religious current within Islam. In Afghanistan, the Shiites are a minority.
