A spectacular traffic accident occupied the Viennese blue light organizations early Monday evening in Floridsdorf: shortly before 6 p.m., three cars collided at the intersection of Brünner and Stammersdorfer Strasse. The vehicles were wedged into each other or stacked on top of each other, reported fire brigade spokesman Bernhard Platzer. One person was seriously injured and three others slightly injured.

When the fire brigade arrived, those involved had already been rescued from the wreckage. The Viennese professional fire brigade took a 37-year-old, who had suffered serious head injuries, to the hospital by helicopter in critical condition, reported their spokesman Andreas Huber but also taken to the hospital for further clarification. Clearing the scene of the accident proved to be difficult for the fire department.
