Several Star Citizen employees fired under the guise of restructuring

A new face appears in the series of layoffs. CIG, studio behind Star Citizen, would have taken advantage of a massive restructuring to thank some of its employees. And not just any positions, since positions of high responsibility are affected by this sudden change. For Cloud Imperium Games however, it stems from a desire to return to the office, forcing the company to take action.

Of course, this all suits them well. Annie Bouffard, former producer of the game, announced on LinkedIn that she had resigned from a highly toxic company. Worse, her superiors never listened to her when she expressed her concerns about the layoffs. Finally, employees were let go Star Citizen, invoking relocation while knowing that some of them could not or did not want to move. A golden opportunity for the firm, which therefore took great advantage of it to clean up.

In addition to this producer who worked at the Turbulent studio in Montreal, game director Todd Papy also left the ship. But he is not the only one, since we also have Jake Ross, lead producer, Dane Kubicka, level designer, Vincent Sinatra, head of the QA department in Austin, as well as Andrew Rexroth, a senior QA analyst from Austin. The restructuring therefore seems to be taking place according to the plan of the heads of Star Citizen, but at the cost of talent. As for how this will impact the game or
Squadron 42impossible to say.
