Several State services have, since Sunday, been the subject of computer attacks of “unprecedented intensity” but their impact at this stage “has been reduced” and access to State sites “restored”. AFP learned Monday from Matignon.

These attacks “are not attributable to the Russians at this stage”, according to a security source.

“Since yesterday evening (Sunday), several State services have been the subject of computer attacks whose technical modalities are classic but the intensity is unprecedented,” indicated the Prime Minister’s services. “Many ministerial services were thus targeted.”

The Ministry of Labor is particularly affected, according to an internal source in the ministry.

Matignon indicated that a crisis unit had been activated on Sunday evening “to deploy countermeasures and guarantee the continuity of IT services”.

“At this stage, the impact of these attacks has been reduced for most services and access to state sites restored,” it was added.

“The mobilized teams from DINUM (interministerial digital directorate) and ANSSI (national information systems security agency) continue to implement filtering measures until the end of these attacks,” they said. specified the Prime Minister’s services.

Before the Paris Olympic Games this summer, the European elections on June 9 will be “a considerable issue and target” for foreign manipulation, declared Wednesday the Secretary General of Defense and National Security (SGDSN), Stéphane Bouillon.

The SGDSN, dependent on the Prime Minister, must organize on March 29 for all French political parties candidates in these European elections a meeting to “raise awareness of so-called hybrid threats” in order to address the risks of “cyberattacks, manipulation of information and foreign interference.

French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu, for his part, called on February 20 for the strengthening of security measures in the face of threats of Russian “sabotage and cyberattack” which target his ministry “first and foremost”, according to an internal memo including AFP was aware.
