Severe burns – fall into a 450-degree pool: struggle for survival in the AKH

After the horror accident in the Voest in Linz, the doctors at the Vienna General Hospital continue to fight for the life of a 49-year-old worker. As reported, the man fell into a two-meter deep and 450-degree hot zinc bath on Saturday. He suffered life-threatening burns.

“The victim is still in acute danger of death,” said the Vienna General Hospital on Sunday opposite the “Krone”. It is in a special department for burn victims that is only available here. The tragedy took place on Saturday morning, the 49-year-old Bosnian was doing dismantling work in the hot-dip galvanizing plant and was standing on a makeshift cover zinc was 450 degrees Celsius. The man sank to his waist. Colleagues who had seen the fall rushed to help the 49-year-old, pulled him out of the pool and called the rescue services. The Bosnian had suffered life-threatening burns and was flown by helicopter to the AKH immediately after the accident.
