Thunderstorms are followed by heavy rain – danger looms

According to SRF Meteo, the thunderstorms that were there before Friday on Thursday are followed by persistent heavy rain on Sunday and Monday. Accordingly, exceptionally large amounts of water accumulate.

As SRF meteorologist Daniela Schmuki indicates, small and medium-sized streams could develop into torrents, especially in the Ticino and Graubünden regions, but generally also in the central and eastern mountain areas. She warns that there is a risk of landslides, debris flows and flooding.
