Sevran: a policeman shot and injured during an intervention for domestic violence


The police were targeted by gunfire overnight from Thursday to Friday.

Police officers in intervention for a marital dispute were targeted by firearms on the night of Thursday March 3 to Friday March 4, in Sevran (Seine-Saint-Denis), learned Le Figaro from police sources. One of the officers received a bullet impact which landed, fortunately, on his bulletproof vest. Injured, he was taken care of by the fire brigade. However, his vital prognosis is not engaged.

The facts took place around 3 a.m. when the police were called to Sevran for a case of domestic violence. Threatened by her companion armed with a .22 long rifle, a woman managed to take refuge with a neighbour. She had no injuries. As soon as they arrived at the bottom of the building, the police were targeted by shots coming from a window of the suspect’s apartment.

Following the shots, many reinforcements arrived on the scene and the inhabitants were confined to their homes. The shooter, barricaded at his home, finally surrendered later that night. Born in 2000, the suspect is known to justice for a history of common law, reports AFP. He was arrested and taken into custody. The judicial police of Seine-Saint-Denis have been seized of the facts.
