Thirteen people, including five minors, were arrested overnight from Monday to Tuesday in Sevran, Aulnay-sous-Bois and Tremblay-en-France, in Seine-Saint-Denis, for fires, damage and violence, expression of anger born after the death of a resident killed by police fire on Saturday. The prosecution has since requested the indictment of the police officer responsible for the fatal shooting of a motorist.

The prosecution has requested the indictment of the police officer responsible for the fatal shooting of a motorist in Sevran on March 26, for “willful violence resulting in death without intention to give it” and his placement under judicial control, announced Friday the prosecutor of the Republic of Bobigny Eric Mathais.

The policeman claimed “to have felt in a state of self-defense”, continued the prosecutor during a press conference. The death of the father of the family hit by a bullet had generated five consecutive nights of violence in several communes of Seine-Saint-Denis.
