Bad hair days don’t stand a chance with Guido’s headband. So it’s all the more beautiful that you can make the design yourself from his studio in a single afternoon.

You need:

  • Outer fabric (preferably jersey or with elastic; approx. 30 cm with a fabric width of 140 cm)
  • Sewing thread
  • various applications for decoration (e.g. brooches, patches, rhinestones or chains, etc.)

It’s that easy

  1. Add the necessary seam allowances to the pattern. If you sew the headband with an overlock machine, add 0.7 cm to the long edge, add 1 cm with a normal sewing machine. Add 1.4 or 2 cm to the short edge.
  2. Cut the pattern twice, paying attention to the position on the fabric. The headband must be stretchable in length.
  3. Close the longitudinal seam on both parts. If necessary, slightly iron the seam apart. Then turn right.
  4. Lay the two hoses created as follows.
  5. Fold the vertical hose down. Fold the right part of the horizontal strip down with the seam up.
  6. Screw in the left part with the side without a seam and place it on top of all layers.
  7. Put the four layers on top of each other and stitch with a zigzag stitch at 0.7 cm.
  8. Lay the top and bottom layers on one side and hide the seam allowances in a seam. Choose a large straight stitch for this seam and make sure that the layers lie nicely on top of each other.
  9. Decorate the headband as you like. Make sure that the elasticity of the tape is retained.
