Samantha will be missing in the new edition of "Sex and the City" – and Mr. Big is obviously in a bad way too, as "Page Six" reports.

Many "Sex and the City" fans will not like this: Mr. Big has apparently disappeared from Carrie Bradshaw's life. As "Page Six" reports, actor Chris Noth (66) will not slip into his legendary role again in the new edition of the series. According to the New York Post's gossip page, it is also unclear whether David Eigenberg, 56, who played Miranda Hobbes' husband Steve Brady, will return. The negotiations are apparently still ongoing.

It was previously announced that the new edition of the "Sex and the City" cast also had to do without Kim Cattrall (64). She will not return in her role as Samantha Jones. The streaming service responsible for the spin-off, HBO Max, has already indicated how the absence of the popular role will be explained. "This time it's about women over 50. And as in real life, friendships come or go over time," said Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys in an interview with "TV Line".

Shooting starts in spring

The new season with the nickname "And just like that …" is based on the book "Sex and the City" by Candace Bushnell (62) and the original TV series created by Darren Star (59). "The series will accompany Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte on their way from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s," reads the content of the new episodes. Filming will begin in New York in late spring. Sarah Jessica Parker (55) as Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon (54, Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (55, Charlotte York) are there again.
