It is “an extremely painful reality” for the Minister Delegate for Transport, Clément Beaune, who spoke on the subject during the Great interview with Europe 1-CNews on Thursday.
According to Parisian, in 2020, 57,000 complaints were reported, as stated in a note from last year. A particularly alarming figure for the Minister of Transport, which “only reflects part of the reality”. The latter supports it, “the more these facts are denounced, the better it is. But they are undoubtedly even more numerous”. And in the face of this scourge, a single solution is not enough, he then acknowledges. “Obviously, the first response is the presence and the police action. With the Minister of the Interior, we are deploying in Paris, in Île-de-France, gradually by the Olympic Games, and it will be sustainable , more than 1,000 additional police personnel.”

On the other hand, a new “very concrete” measure, developed elbow-to-elbow with Valérie Pécresse, the President of the Regional Council of Île-de-France, will come into force from September 1, according to The Minister. “In bus transport in Île-de-France, there will be the possibility of stopping on demand. When you have a bus stop zone that is a little dangerous, poorly lit, there may be people who take advantage of it to have these gestures and these attacks. Well, we can go down elsewhere.
