“Shadow and Bone” Season 2 ends with a grisly scene: At Nikolai’s coronation, a Entherzerin attacks everyone present. Due to the mysterious drug “Jurda Parem” she is extremely strong and kills numerous Grisha who attend the ceremony.
At the same time, we learn some clues about Jurda Pardem from Kaz Brekker, who lands an order for his crows. The drug was developed by a chemical worker who fled to Kerch after realizing what he had done. However, the Fjerdans got their hands on him and the drug. The fact that the drug is now in circulation is likely to have a major impact on Season 3 of Shadow and Bone and a potential crow-themed spin-off.
Jurda Parem is about, among other things, the book spin-off series, “The Song of the Crows” and “The Gold of the Crows”. In the books, Shu chemist Bo Yul-Bayur accidentally develops Jurda Parem while trying to find a means of suppressing the Grisha’s powers from being detected. But exactly the opposite happens and Yul-Bayur wants to flee the country with his son. However, they are caught and imprisoned by Fjerdan spies. Kaz and the Crows must infiltrate the Ice Tribunal and free Bo Yul-Bayur.
That’s how strong Jurda Parem is
Jurda Parem amplifies the power of Grisha a thousandfold. However, the drug is also incredibly addictive and the more Grisha Jurda Parem take, the faster they die. It is impossible to stop with Jurda Parem.
Since the Fjerdans hate the Grisha, it is very likely that they will make some Grisha dependent on Jurda Parem and have them work for them. With their drug-addicted Grisha army, they can then destroy the remaining Grisha. This could have devastating consequences for Season 3.
A third season of “Shadow and Bone” has not yet been confirmed. However, the series is very likely to be renewed by Netflix, after all, Season 2 shot straight to number 1 in the Netflix Top 10 and there are spin-off rumors.
