Shadow Warrior 3 Definitive Edition announced for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series for February 16

Lo-Wang is back, not for a new episode but for a new version of Shadow Warrior 3. The Flying Wild Hog studio and Devolver Digital have announced the release of a Definitive Edition for their latest action game, for PC and next-gen consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X. Release date, new features, improvements… Here is what we can expect.

Finally a full version?

Released almost a year ago on the old generation, Shadow Warrior 3 convinced us with its still nervous gameplay. But it hadn’t succeeded in completely satisfying us, the fault of a starving content and a lack of refinement on several aspects. The announcement of a Definitive Edition which brings some new features is therefore good news.

This brings several new modes, starting with a survival mode which allows you to fight in three battle arenas. Available after completing the main story, these also award weapon skins if you manage to complete them. One New Game Plus is also added, the opportunity to redo the scenario while keeping its strengths. A selection of chapters is also availablebut also several difficulty modes, with a mode Hardcorewhich as its name suggests, is more difficult, while a mode Hero limits Lo-Wang’s respawns and will prompt you to perform Finishers spectacular.

Of course, the arrival on next generation comes with several optimizations: the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X versions get special attention with improvements such as support for haptic feedback and the sound of the DualSense as well as different graphics modes. It is possible to choose to play in 60 frames per second or in 4K 30 fps.

The Definitive Edition of Shadow Warrior 3 will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on February 16, 2023. Note that if you already own the game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC, you can take advantage of these additions via a (free) update.
