Shadows of the Damned remaster will ‘probably’ release on all platforms

Finally, the only thing to remember from this Grasshopper Direct is that the acquisition of the Japanese studio by NetEase Games has not changed anything in the punk communication of Suda51 and his little troupe, as we can see with this exercise in style from about ten minutes, the humor of which will undoubtedly make at least a few of them smile, and which ends on a vague teasing regarding the studio’s next production.

To go back to Shadows of the Damnedremember that this 2011 action-adventure game was once published by Electronic Arts, whose marketing department had heavily touted the names of Suda51, Shinji Mikami and Akira Yamaoka as some kind of magical creative alliance, when the making of the game was in fact in the hands of the less famous Massimo Guarini, who would come out of the shadows a little later by forming the studo Ovosonico (Murasaki Baby, Last Day of June).

Bitter business failure, Shadows of the Damned is considered today as a cult-classic by some, its quirky horror story and its atmosphere prevailing over a gameplay not very deep (even for the time). We embody the turbulent Garcia Hotspur, a tattooed demon hunter who has been particularly furious since a demon king took his girlfriend, Paula, away from him. For his girlfriend, Garcia will ride his motorcycle and will not hesitate to venture into the depths of hell.
