After twelve years together, Shakira and Gerard Pique announced their separation on Saturday June 4. Sad news that came after many rumors of infidelity from the FC Barcelona player. If the reason for their separation has not been officially formulated, the couple had explained in a press release: “We regret to confirm that we are in the process of separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that our privacy be respected.“.
Despite their separation, the Colombian singer and the football player still passed the weekend together with their two children. According to the Spanish newspaper El Periodico, they traveled to Hluboká, Czech Republic. Indeed, their eldest son, Milan (9 years old) disputed an international baseball tournament. Sasha’s older brother (7 years old) is part of the Catalan selection and participated in the Super CUP sub 10 championship, where his team finished in fourth place.
Shakira and Gerard Pique want to stay united for their children
If the interpreter of WakaWaka and the central defender attended their eldest son’s tournament together, it’s because their children remain their priority. They are both very invested in the education of their sons who practice many hobbies. After the game is over, Shakira has returned to Barcelona on Sunday night, with Milan and Sasha. On his side, Gerard Pique traveled alone. The 45-year-old decided to travel to the Maldives to enjoy a vacation with his friends.
If the announcement of the separation of Shakira and Gerard Pique was sudden, the couple was already separated for three months according to information from El Periodico. Indeed, according to the Spanish newspaper, the football player had moved into his apartment from downtown Barcelona while the Latin American singer remained to live with her sons in their house in the Esplugues de Llogrebat district. For now, they both want maintain a cordial relationship for the welfare of their children.
