Actress with cancer gets rid of possessions

To relieve her mother: Actress Shannen Doherty, who is suffering from cancer, is getting rid of her belongings.
Shannen Doherty (52) is preparing for the time after her death. In the In a new episode of her podcast “Let’s Be Clear”, the actress, who suffered from breast cancer, revealed that she is currently getting rid of her possessions. The reason: She wants to relieve her mother Rosa. “My priority right now is my mom,” said the “Beverly Hills, 90210” actress.
“I know it will be hard for her if I die before her,” Doherty continued. And so that things don’t get even harder for her mother, she cleans out the house. “I don’t want her to have to deal with a bunch of things. I don’t want her to have four storage units full of furniture,” the “Charmed” actress says in the podcast. She announces the episode on Instagram as “as hard as it gets. But through the pain there is clarity and peace.”
Shannen Doherty gives up dream in Tennessee
To get rid of her possessions, Shannen Doherty traveled to one of her properties in Tennessee. She actually wanted to live there with her mother and save old and sick horses. But she had to give up this dream, she said tearfully in the podcast. For her, it almost felt like she was giving up on life.
Her mother wanted to stop her from taking this step. But Shannen Doherty stuck to her decision. On the way back to California, the dream of rescuing horses seemed like a “stupid idea.” She described letting go as the right decision that would bring her a bit of “peace.” It is an important step in giving her family a “clean, easier transition” after her death.
Traveling with family instead of possessions
She wants to sell some of her possessions. She wants to use the money to travel with her family: “I’m building memories with the people I love.” She then doesn’t have to take money from her estate to do this. After her death, her relatives would be taken care of.
Shannen Doherty is suffering from stage four, or final stage, breast cancer. She was first diagnosed with the disease in 2015. The actress is open about her illness and regularly gives her fans updates about her condition. In June 2023, she told the public that she had metastases in her brain, She announced in a “People” interview in November 2023that the cancer had also attacked her bones. In January 2024, she spoke of a medical “miracle” that gave her some time.
