She talks about cancer surgery after her husband’s affair

In her podcast, Shannen Doherty talks about how two of the worst experiences of her life came crashing down on her in a very short space of time. While the cancer-stricken actress has been fighting for her life for eight years, her marriage is also falling apart this year.
On the day of her brain operation, she had recently found out that her husband Kurt Iswarienko, 49, had been cheating on her for several months. “I went into the operating room early in the morning after finding out that my marriage was basically over, that my husband had been having an affair for two years,” US magazine quoted the actress as saying on her podcast. She simply felt incredibly betrayed by the person she had been with for 14 years and whom she loved with all her heart, but she didn’t want Kurt there anymore. Her mother, her brother and her best friends accompanied her to her operation.
Shannen Doherty: “It was embarrassing”
In her fragile health, learning that her marriage was in shambles was particularly unpleasant for Shannen. “It was embarrassing,” she said on her podcast, according to People, adding: “I’m horrified that I can’t maintain a relationship. I [dachte]”It’s my fault, but this time I think it’s his fault.” Shannen goes on to say that she definitely takes responsibility for some of the problems she and Kurt had – not least because her illness obviously affected her and thus had an impact on her marriage. But she would not take responsibility for the failure.
Doherty goes on to explain in her podcast that she was “obsessed” with finding out the truth about her husband’s infidelity. She wanted to know the whole truth from him. “If you were together for 14 years and were cheated on, doesn’t that person deserve the absolute truth, even if it hurts them?” She even spoke to the girlfriend with whom he cheated on her for two years.
The actress has not lost faith in love
The decision to divorce Kurt was not easy for her. It was difficult for her to make such a hard and final decision at her weakest moment, under the influence of strong medication and steroids. Not least because they shared so many memories together. Despite everything, Shannen Doherty believes that she will be happy again: “I’ve failed three times in marriage, but I still believe in love.”
