Shannen Doherty won’t let it get her down and has revealed that she is open to new love – and also dreams of a child.
The actress who became known for the series “Beverly Hills, 90210”. Shannen Doherty (52) dreams of new love amid her battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, and in June 2023 she announced that metastases had formed in the brain and that she therefore had to undergo surgery.
“I don’t think I’ll stay single forever”
In a statement published on Wednesday Interview with “People” She talked about her will to live and revealed that she would also like to open her heart again. She’s not done living and loving yet. “Three weeks ago I wasn’t ready at all,” she said. But that has now changed. “There’s always a trigger, just a moment you have, someone says something to you, your ex says something to you and you’re like, ‘Okay, yeah, I’m fine.’ I’m doing well’.” She believes that the best in life is still ahead of her and that her private life still has a lot in store for her: “I don’t think I’ll stay single forever. I need to love myself and really come to terms with the past before I can move on, and now I’m pretty sure I’ll meet someone – hopefully soon.” However, she doesn’t know exactly how that would happen.
The actress continued, referring to her previous marriages: “Listen, Elizabeth Taylor still beats me when it comes to husbands and divorces, so I’m fine. I’m not there yet, so there’s no reason to be negative to be about it.” She also revealed that she is open to motherhood. “I would love nothing more than to be a mother. I’ve always wanted it.”
Her third marriage failed in the spring
In April, Doherty filed for divorce from her third husband, Kurt Iswarienko (48). She was married to the photographer for eleven years. Before that, she was married to actor Ashley Hamilton (49) from 1993 to 1994 and to her colleague Rick Salomon (55) from 2002 to 2003. Despite her failed loves, she is now ready to date again. She has put her past behind her and can “move on in a really healthy way.”
