Suffering from breast cancer, Shannen Doherty has decided to watch what she eats. For three weeks, the American actress has been on a special diet.
Shannen Doherty is a fighter. In 2015, doctors diagnosed the Charmed star with breast cancer. After treatment, Shannen Doherty had gone into remission, but in February 2020, the actress announced that she had relapsed. “It’s lovely when people tell me they’re praying for me, or whatever but I’m managing. I’m fine. There are a lot of people in the world who need those prayers and I feel great, she confided, beating. I have an incredible medical team around me (…) I have some great friends.” To feel better in her body, Shannen Doherty pays attention to what she eats, and she even started a “reset” diet. Created by Harley Pasternak, a celebrity personal trainer, this one aims to achieve fast and noticeable results.
His goal ? Help restart the system. And obviously, Shannen Doherty is delighted! “21 days of food rebalancing and today was my ‘cheat meal’ (a pleasure meal, editor’s note)”, she rejoiced on Instagram in the caption of a selfie of her natural. And the actress adds: “After stopping carbohydrates, sugar and favoring a healthy diet, I jumped on fries, bread and wine. Ah and dessert!” If Shannen Doherty has “adored [s]on cheat meal”, the actress assures that it is “like work”. “Right now I just want to be the best version of myself. I don’t know what it is, but I know eating well is the start. Tomorrow I’m going back to my own diet but for now , I’m going to enjoy one more dessert”, concluded Shannen Doherty, complimented by many Internet users proud of her and her courage in the face of the disease.
Shannen Doherty: ‘I have good karma’
In 2020, when Shannen Doherty returned to see doctors after suffering from pain in her back. After a consultation with her oncologist, the actress learned that her breast cancer was back and had migrated to her spine. Upset, the ex-interpreter of Prue Halliwell finally decided to face the disease with a fighting spirit. “I have good karma. It’s so definitive (…) I don’t disconnect. I feel like a very healthy human being. It’s hard to close your deals when you feel like to be able to live another 10 or 15 years, she threw. It’s like anyone in stage 4 who is faced with this stuff, where others want to pasture you. I’m not ready for grazing. I have a lot of life in me.”
