Sharlely Becker: Those were her feelings after the breakup

Her marriage caused a stir in 2018, and now the topic is coming up again: In a new documentary, Sharlely “Lilly” Becker, 47, will express her view of her relationship and the two separations from Boris Becker, 55. The “Bild” newspaper has now published excerpts from the interview in advancewhich the Dutchwoman gave during the shooting of the documentary “The Rise and Fall of Boris Becker”.

In it, the mother of Becker’s youngest son Amadeus, 13, speaks, among other things, about how much she hit the first separation and the subsequent engagement of her ex-partner with the younger Alessandra Meyer-Wölden, 40.

“The Pain Should Go Away”

At that time she was “deeply in love with him” – “with his charisma, his passion, his humor”. She still remembers the day she heard about Becker’s engagement to Meyer-Wölden over the phone. After that she had a strong urge to travel to Ibiza. “I’ve never felt so ugly, old and unwanted. The pain should go away,” says Sharlely Becker, according to “Bild” in the documentary, which will be shown on Paramount+ from August 4th.

At the time, she tried by all means to forget, she reports: “I tried every mushroom, every alcohol, every drug on Ibiza. I couldn’t get drunk enough to forget this man.”

Sharlely Becker (before the wedding: Kerssenberg) married the former German tennis pro Boris Becker in 2009, and their son Amadeus was born in 2010. The couple finally separated in 2018 for the second time after almost ten years of relationship. The two had been in a relationship for a short time in 2007. Between the first separation and the marriage to Sharlely, Boris Becker was engaged for two months in 2008 to Alessandra Meyer-Wölden, the daughter of his late manager.
