Directed by Léa Domenach, the film retracing the story of Bernadette Chirac is eagerly awaited in France. Indeed, even if since the death of her husband, Jacques Chirac, the former first lady has been rather discreet, she remains one of the most famous public and political figures in France. At 90, Bernadette Chirac is therefore preparing to see her own biopic released on the big screen, and it is none other than the great and emblematic Catherine Deneuve who has been chosen to interpret it.
This Monday, July 3, the Warner Bros France has just unveiled the first images of this long-awaited biopic! Scheduled for October 4, it is the daughter of the famous journalist Nicolas Domenach, Léa Domenach, who took the reins of this feature film where we find Catherine Deneuve in the role of Bernadette Chirac and Michel Vuillermoz in that of Jacques Chirac. A film which was not very well received by the couple’s daughter, Claude Chirac, indeed when the project was only in its infancy she had had a rather sarcastic remark about the film with our colleagues from Paris Match: “They may not know that Bernadette is still alive…”
