The suspect was previously convicted of homicide
Henry Talley Jr has already been convicted of murder. He notably murdered a 12-year-old boy in 1996. This earned him a life imprisonment sentence. Only he was released in 2021 after 25 years in prison. His release, he owes it to a decision of the Supreme Court regarding life sentences for minors.
