Microblading is an ancestral pigmentation technique originating in Asia which consists of imitating eyebrow hair using pigments placed under the superficial layers of the skin. The ultra-fine line discreetly fills in sparse eyebrows. This operation can sometimes make it possible to emphasize the look, but beware, if this make-up technique is semi-permanent, backtracking can be a delicate and costly procedure. This 42-year-old American, residing in Missouri, USA, visited a woman who claimed to specialize in microblading. But she ended up with a pair of eyebrows that were too high which made her “look surprised”. “If I had known it would end like this, I probably never would have done this“, regretted the forties. “Devastated”Jami finally managed to have his tattooed eyebrows removed with the help of a tattoo artist who specializes in tattoo removal. But the procedure took months and cost him more than $1,000.

Is microblading dangerous?
In the United States, this type of procedure is apparently not regulated, as dermatologist Jennifer MacGregor explains to Prevention magazine. “The inks are not controlled and I have seen many complications, such as infections, allergies, scarring, and unsightly results”. In France, the procedure can be performed in a beauty salon for a cost ranging from 100 to 600 euros. Remember to choose your professional carefully and talk to your dermatologist or doctor about it.
