This is a rare case! A young Brazilian gives birth to twins from two different families.
It is an incredible story that took place in Brazil. Several months ago, a 19-year-old woman from the city of Mineiros, gave birth to twins, but who do not have the same father. Indeed, they are twins, but also half-brothers. The hospital where this incredible double birth took place kept the secret for 16 months. He has just revealed this extremely rare fact through the Globo media. The 7News newspaper says that the young woman herself asked to do a paternity test when she gave birth to her two children.
The latter indeed wanted to make sure that her boyfriend at the time was indeed the father of her children. The young man therefore provided a DNA sample and it turned out correspond to that of only one of the two babies. The young mother then remembered that she had sex with another the same evening when she thinks she conceived her children. She will then contact the man in question and succeed in convincing him to take a DNA test. This one therefore has confirmed that he was indeed the father of the second twin!
A rare and incredible case!
The young mother confided that she was “surprise of the results” of the DNA tests. Indeed, it must be said that we never expect this kind of news. “I didn’t know it was possible. Besides, the two babies look a lot alike” she told the media. On the side of the doctors, the surprise is just as great. “This type of situation can happen when two eggs from the same mother are fertilized by different men” explains Doctor Tulio Jorge Franco who followed the pregnancy very closely. “Babies share their mother’s genetic material, but they grew up in two separate placentas. It’s extremely rare, it only happens once in a million. I would never have imagined encountering a case like this in my life.” he confided. Finally, the 7News site specifies that the babies were born healthy and developed normally. One of the two fathers has settled down with the young woman and recognized the two babies. “He takes care of them and helps me a lot to give them all the support they need” confided the young mother.
