In California, a woman gave birth to two baby girls who are not twins because they were not conceived on the same day.
Incredible but true. In Californiaa mum got pregnant twice within days of each other, and gave birth to her two baby girls in the same hour, revealed the DailyMail.
However, in this exceptional case, the two little girls are not considered twins because they were not conceived at the same time. However, they have a perfectly identical physique.
“I got pregnant when I already was”
The couple went to the first ultrasound feeling stressed as the 25-year-old had recently suffered a miscarriage. After hearing a first heartbeat, the doctor very quickly informed them of the presence of another baby because he was actually hearing two heartbeats. The two babies were conceived five days apart, which the young mother simply explains: “I got pregnant when I already was”.
This very rare case has a name: superfetation. This one only happened 10 times around the world. It simply means that the woman becomes pregnant when she already is.
While the young couple was expecting their daughters on two different dates since the terms weren’t supposed to be the same, their two babies were finally born at the same time, August 10, 2021. The two little girls are thus not considered twins, but the mother explains that the resemblance is disturbing and that the dad had a hard time getting used to it: “Antonio can take a baby for an hour and call him Lilo before I tell him he’s got Imelda and he looks at me dumbfounded. We laugh a lot about that.” she confided.
A rare story that makes it all the more beautiful.
