Double tragedy for a family whose mother died unexpectedly and whose body was discovered by her daughter…
Kelly Gleeson was just 40 when she died just thinking she was suffering from food poisoning after vomiting all day. It all started a few days after Christmas Day, near the city of Manchester in the UK. When she thought she had eaten something that had turned her stomach, the mother went to rest around 6 p.m. Only when her daughter came to see how she was an hour later, she found her mother unconscious in her bed and immediately called for help. Despite the rapidity of their intervention, the victim could not be resuscitated.
It was later established that Kelly Gleeson suffered a pulmonary embolism which, if not treated quickly, can be fatal. After the tragedy, the victim’s husband spoke to the Manchester Evening News to share his pain and sadness. “My beautiful wife is dead, to say I’m heartbroken is an understatement. We had 22 wonderful years together. I never stopped loving you and I always will. I promise you that I will watch over our daughter.” Madison, the couple’s daughter, is only 17 years old and will have to, all her life, living with the trauma of discovering his own dead mother in his bed.
A pot for the funeral
The teenager also kept talking about his mother to Manchester Evening News. “My mom was my best friend and we always did everything together. She did everything for me and always gave me everything I needed”. Shortly after the tragedy and in order to cover funeral expenses, Kelly Gleeson’s sister has created a participatory kitty that allows anyone who wants to participate. On the page, she explains that her sister has always been a caring person who cared about everyone, and that she deserves a funeral commensurate with her generosity.
