She-Hulk: Disney+ bows to fan pressure and makes the heroine more “feminine”

Disney+ has decided to limit the risks and avoid a fiasco for its She-Hulk series. When the first trailer aired, several fans expressed their displeasure at seeing a woman with too much muscle. In a new trailer available on the page of the series, we notice that the silhouette of the heroine has changed somewhat to match the standards of beauty.

We wonder what She-Hulk fans expected, but obviously not that. The release of the series’ first trailer sparked an outpouring of discontent among viewers, many of whom said they were shocked to see a woman with such a muscular build. While the release takes place in only a few months, the entertainment giant obviously wanted to limit the risks.

On the page dedicated to She-Hulk, on the American version of Disney+, it is now possible to see a new version of the trailer. In this one, Jennifer Walters appears with slightly modified facial features, in order to give her a more “feminine” appearance. A change that is reminiscent of the redesign of Sonic shortly before the release of the first film, following the public outcry that the trailer had caused.

She-Hulk will be less muscular than expected

Unfortunately, this is an expected controversy. However, Kat Coiro, one of the producers of the series, claims to have never considered this possibility. In an interview given to the media The Wrap, she indicates “never choose a project based on gender”. “To be honest, I never even think about the like, I think about the character,” she continues.

“And I think about the emotional lives of the characters and, you know, can I contribute something? Can I bring a mix of humor and emotions? Because that’s what I like to watch. And that’s what I like to work with. » So let’s hope that this change puts an end to this controversy and that She-Hulk will eventually find its audience.
