On her Facebook account, this photographer recounts the surprising birth of a mother, since she gave birth in her car, supported by her companion.
Births don’t always go as planned, as this photographer, who specializes in birth photos, tells us. “The birth is coming. In the houses. In birthing centers. In the hospital. And sometimes on the side of the road“, Writes Monet Nicole on her Facebook account”Monet Nicole – Birthing Stories“.
Indeed, it is the dad who called the photographer to ask her to immortalize the moment. “As soon as I heard a contraction on the phone… I knew things were going to happen quickly. I encouraged them to call their midwives as soon as possible, and we all agreed to see each other at the maternity ward at 11 am ”, she emphasizes.
While this mother was in labor, no one suspected that the birth was going to happen before their eyes. “As I was driving down South Broadway on my way to the birthing center … dad called me back. I knew something was up as soon as I saw his name on my cell phone. “Monet, I can feel the baby’s head!” I asked them if they were far from the center, and when he told me where they were, I told him to stop immediately. There was no way they would get away with it. ”
Coincidentally, the photographer was only one light behind the couple. “I saw them park, and quickly joined them on the side of the road. I ran to the car, and saw that their little boy was already coming out! ”
Even crazier, an ambulance was just nearby. “We happened to be right next to an ambulance (which was dealing with another emergency). They came quickly, trying to move the mother to a stretcher, but I encouraged the daddy to come in and grab his baby. “She is doing great where she is … the baby is coming!“she writes.
The father of the family assisted and helped his wife throughout the delivery. “Dad (who’s a neurosurgeon) handled it really well… and he expertly / beautifully helped deliver his first baby,” she says. The little boy was out in just 1 minute and is doing wonderfully. “We put it on skin to skin immediately, and we found it so perfect”, she confides.
This photographer shared her birth photos with permission from the mother. The young mother wanted to remind women that they can give birth anywhere and that a mother’s body is capable of doing incredible things.
