This 24-year-old mother was coming out of a doctor’s appointment when she experienced one of the most traumatic moments of his lifeon November 1, 2022, in Little Lever, northwest of Manchester, reports the DailyMirror. She was coming out of a postnatal consultation and holding her ten-week-old newborn in her arms. She was about to put him in her car seat when a hooded man appeared out of nowhere. The latter has threatened the distraught young woman with a machete in the doctor’s office parking lot, forcing her to give up her car keys.
The young mother was in shock at the thief
All trembling, the young mother cooperated on the spot. She only had one thing in mind: protect your baby. “Give me your fucking keys!”yelled the thief. “I didn’t think it was real at first. I was in shock“, remembers the victim before continuing: “I tried to find the keys in my pocket, while holding my baby. He was telling me to hurry up so I threw them at him. I didn’t even have time to understand what was happening”. The thug then fled. Lauren Mercer rushed to her phone to alert the police and warn the father of her child.
Little Lever Councilor Sean Hornby of Bolton Council said he had been made aware of the reported incident and demanded action from the police. “I have emailed Greater Manchester Police Chief Stephen Watson and Bolton Chief Constable Stephanie Parker about this incident.
