She jumps from a running VTC to escape a driver with particularly disturbing behavior

It’s a testimony that sends shivers down my spine. On Wednesday, October 12, a 24-year-old woman reported to Uber after experiencing a nightmare during a car race. Sunday October 16, she filed a complaint in Ivry-sur-Seine for “violence resulting in incapacity for work not exceeding 8 days”. Indeed, the young woman will remember this race in Uber all her life. It is 10:30 p.m. when she wants to reach Montreuil. And very quickly the young woman will find herself in a very dangerous situation.

According to him, the driver does not follow the route indicated by the GPS. “It’s fine, don’t worry. It’s going to be fine,” he replies, “laughing”. Then the driver puts “romantic music” explains Nina, the young woman’s sister-in-law. The latter then asks man stopping the vehicle to get her out of the car. But the man would have continued on his way. After ten minutes, scared to death, she decides to pull away and to get out of the car while it is still running.

Uber’s response

Denouncing this situation on social networks, the young woman receives many testimonies. On the side of Uber, the company says to itself “shocked” and claims to have deactivated the driver’s account. “Her incoherent language and her behavior caused anxiety for the passenger who did not feel safe. We fully understand this feeling and all our solidarity goes to the victim”comments Uber, contacted by BFMTV. But for the young woman’s sister-in-law, this answer is late : “Without the pressure of social networks, Uber would not have done anything”, she believes. Unfortunately, many women say they are victims of dangerous behavior or even aggression from VTC drivers.
