In the excerpts from her book Désir Noir, Anne-Sophie Jahn revealed many anecdotes from the time when Bertrand Cantat was imprisoned for the murder of Marie Trintignant. And during his visits, his wife Krisztina Rady very often left in tears.
He is the author of one of the greatest dramas of French music. Bertrand Cantat has always been better known for having killed Marie Trintignant than for his success with his group Noir Désir. Now 59 years old, the latter is a free man, although he will remain for all French people the man who killed the actress with whom he shared his life.
The story goes back to the year 2003, when the singer, known for his very possessive nature, joined Marie Trintignant in her hotel in Vilnius, Lithuania, where she was for the needs of a shoot. After a violent argument between the two protagonists, Bertrand Cantat struck several blows in the face of his companion, causing him terrible irreversible brain damage which caused his death.
Bertrand Cantat spent several years in prison
After several years in prison, Bertrand Cantat finally came out free after a remission. It was these few years behind bars that led Anne-Sophie Jahn to write a book that will be released soon, entitled Désir Noir. Our colleagues from the newspaper Le Point were able to obtain a copy to reveal some anecdotes that happened in prison.
Inside, we were able to learn that Krisztina Rady, Bertrand Cantat’s companion at the time, regularly visited him in the visiting room. But the latter rarely went well according to the words of a former cellmate. “I attended, like the prisoners and guards, his monster anger in the visiting room against his wife. She left in tears with the children. He gave her orders : ‘Go buy me this!’ and if she didn’t bring him back…”, confided the latter. The pots keep piling up for Bertrand Cantat.
