she makes a poignant appeal to find the stranger who rescued her husband

Lori Hinnant, American journalist living in Paris, wants to find the one who administered a life-saving cardiac massage to her husband. She therefore put up posters in the neighborhood where the incident took place.

“You saved my husband’s life. A man went into cardiac arrest in Parc Monceau. Thanks to someone who gave him a cardiac massage, he survived and will have few consequences. Thank you from all our family.” Here are the words seen on a poster in the park of the eighth arrondissement and captured by a user on May 1, 2021. Posted on Twitter, the photo is shared by several thousand anonymous people touched by this beautiful story.

Seeing this, Lori Hinnant, the woman who wrote several copies of this poster with her children, took to Twitter to ask for help to find the one who took care of her husband. Thanks to the magic of the Internet, witnesses make themselves known and explain that the heroine is a reserve firefighter also jogging at the same time.

Contacted by The Parisian, the journalist explains that her husband Peter left their home to go for a run around 6 pm on Wednesday April 28, 2021. An hour later, he is still not back and Lori is starting to worry. Despite several calls, she cannot reach him. It is finally “an ambulance doctor” who calls her from her husband’s cell phone and explains that the latter has had a cardiac arrest. He adds that “its vital prognosis is engaged.”

An almost immediate heart massage

Arrived at the Pompidou hospital, the medical staff explained to her that her husband, 53 years old and athletic, was very lucky. Not because he is in good physical condition, but because someone rebooted his heart with a massage. “less than a minute after it fell” ! Without this intervention, the story could have come to a tragic end.

Relieved, Lori then decides to go in search of this jogger firefighter by installing 7 or 8 posters in Parc Monceau, in the hope that the heroine will fall on them. She also questions the caretaker who reveals to her that her rescuer massaged 15 minutes, including during the arrival of her colleagues. The defibrillator available in the park also played a key role, according to the journalist.

“It’s huge what she did, to stay with him. The whole family’s life has changed because of her. All of our loved ones around the world want to thank her.”, explains Lori in the interview. Contacted by Le Parisien, the Paris Fire Brigade is aware of the facts and confirms that “the rescuer is a reservist at [nous]. “ It is not yet known if the latter was able to get in touch with Lori and Peter’s family to receive their thanks. Definitely not all heroes wear a cape …
