After a disappearance of 11 years, Camille Chauvet has been found. Back to a mysterious case that is not over…

What will happen to Camille Chauvet and her mother? This child who disappeared for 11 years was found on March 1, 2022, but the story is far from over… Unlike the Marion Wagon case, the mystery has been solved. But if we know what happened to Camille, there are still elements to clarify.

Far from these sequestrations which made our blood run cold, we learned in March this year that Camille Chauvet was finally in Switzerland, more precisely in the canton of Vaud, alongside her mother Priscilla Majani. The latter was arrested following a simple police traffic check. Extradited to France, the 48-year-old mother was tried by the Toulon Criminal Court for subtraction and non-presentation of a child, but also slanderous denunciation against her ex-husband. She was sentenced to five years in prison on Friday, September 16.

Camille Chauvet: a mysterious case finally solved?

Two stories clashed in court: that of a father unjustly deprived of his daughter of whom he had custody, and that of a mother who was just trying to protect her child. During the 5 o’clock hearing, the father said he was worried about Camille, whom he feared was “screwed up” because “alienated by her mother”. As revealed Var Morning, the 16-year-old girl still refuses to see her father. Entrusted to child protection in Switzerland, she will celebrate her 17th birthday in October.

In 2011, the then 5-year-old girl was kidnapped by her mother, a military engineer unable to obtain her custody. After 11 years of research, his father said he was ready to let go of everything, it was so heavy to bear. The joy of knowing her found, and safe and sound, was unfortunately short-lived in the face of her daughter’s rejection.

The court for its part granted him compensation of 25,000 euros for the damage suffered and 1,500 for the costs incurred. Priscilla Majani’s lawyers spoke on behalf of their client, who believes that her place is with her daughter in Switzerland and who expresses no regrets. She decided to appeal the conviction.

A run of 11 years which therefore ends in the courts for Camille Chauvet and his parents.
